Got a call on 10/4/12 stating that I had received 7,000 grant money that I did not have to pay back. They had my name, address and phone number obviously. I asked them why I did not have to pay this money back and they said because i was good person or samaritan(can't recall exactly what she said), but she also said because I always paid my taxes on time and because I had never filed bankruptcy. I told her I had already filed bk a while ago and that's when I realized she was B.S.'ing me That's when the lady cut the conversation short and simply told me to call the treasury department with my grant code.
This caller really couldn't speak English and when he spoke it was fast, he said I was selected to receive a grant from the government for $7,000.00 all sounds good but such a scam to me left me a call back number and an ID # to use with it . Isn't there somewhere where we report people like this/
Got a call from a private number. The man that I was talking to had an Indian accent. He told me that I was going to receive 7,000 dollars in grant money that i wouldn't have to pay back any time in my life. He already had my name, phone number and address and he went over with it to confirm if that was me. He then asked me if i had a credit, debit, or account number he could send the money over. I told him that I didn't want to have it sent through my checking account and if he could send me the money through a check instead. He then gave me this number and an approval number. I thought he gave me a different name at first and then I asked for his name. He said it was Robert Misth. He was acting reluctant to give his name. My guess is that he probably told me something different in the beginning and came up with a new name so I wouldn't catch him on his bs.
