I just received a call from somewhere with a man who I could barely understand. He gave me the # to call with an ID code to give them. So, I called the #. The man informed me of the grant money. He than asked how I wanted to receive it? I told him this was probably a scam, and he raised his voice at me saying, " Well if you think it is, than hang up." So I did! He was saying something as I was hanging up. This scares me because the first caller had all my information like where I lived, my full name, and of course my cell phone #.
I got a call from a man that I could not really understand, telling me I was chosen to receive a $9000 dollar grant. He gave me a number to call for more information about the grant. I called, a female answered and told me to go to CVS to get a $250 green dot card and the money would be refunded back, therefore I would receive $9250 back. I called CVS to get information about this grant. They told me they never heard of this grant and it was scam. The female emailed me some information about the grant. I printed the information, so who or what can I do with this information?
i have recieved numerous calls from this number saying there was a grant in the ammount of 9000 dollars awaiting...but...first i need to send money on a green-dot card..the kind that goes to pay-pal...i think a grant is something you must apply for...im pretty sure the govt. isnt just handing out random FREE money...humm
1. There is no grant - only a SCAM to steal your money. That green dot card = cash - untraceable!
2. It is illegal to force an upfront payment for a grant, prize, or loan.
SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I just got 1 of these calls. I havent had this cell long & purchased it from Walmart on Straight Talk company & registered my information for my phone warranty through Straight Talk. I have to wonder, since each time Ive called Straights Customer Service, I speak to the same rude foreign people, I wonder if Straight Talk is either selling info third party or using customer info to scam people. Does anyone else have Straight Talk? Or purchased their phone from Walmart?
I also was called by this number and was promised the $9000 grant and was asked to pay $250, unknowing of me about the scam I did and they asked for another $500 and then asked for $1000 more to finalize. By this point I realized the scam but was too late and already paid $750 into it and was left broke and now I owe my brother money and bill collectors.
