Got same call from this number. They asked if I was Mrs X (well you know exact name.) I asked, who is calling? He answered , "My name is David." (Clearly with an Indian accent.) I asked, David from where? He answered, "From the US Federal Government grants and treasury department." I asked for a call back number and he got defensive..."What do you need my number for?"" I told him in case we get disconnected. He said, "Oh don't worry I will call you back."
I said you don't want to give me your number because you are a big liar!... Clearly he is there to steal your account info. Don't fall for it!
This number called me atleast 7 times this morning! I answered once and they just hung up. They don't say anything..I think it's an machine..but I read some of the comments and I do think it's a scam. Just don't give out your information..
Hahaha. They told me I'd been selected for grant money because I have no bankruptcies and no criminal record. When I told the African sounding woman that I did have a bankruptcy and a criminal record a mile long she hung up. Hahahaha.
Received our fourth call in 24 hours....we usually do not answer them, but just for the heck of it I answered it. Some guy with a foreign sounding voice said hello and mentioned my first name and said he was from the US government, Knowing the US government would not phone someone my first name, I replied "are you really with the US government is is this another of those phony calls". Needless to say, he hung up.
