I was called by this number to have my computer scanned for malware. The caller was Very friendly and used my/his curser to point to a music on my favorites bar and said that he also liked the same the same station and asked if I ever been to Israel and made my mouth water with details with his experience there. So I let him run the Malware program and these pop up "business cards" appeared in the background with ALL Russian Names! I'm baffled now because when he called back he wasn't 'Nice' anymore, but all "let's get this over with" voice, anyway he said that even though I already have virus protection, he said said that won't stop malware and told me it would Cost-after he installed the 'his' crap-100.00 then changed it to $300.00 Then he wouldn't let me interupt to stop him ,when I did ,he continued his spiel and then phone died. so I put his name in my Contact list AND gave him a Special 'Ringtone'! Good thing I chose a favorite tune I recorded off my laptop and made into a ring ring tone. A friend came over while the couputer was runnining and I had to visit my mom so we went AND my phone was ringing every 5 or 10 minutes playing thise beautiful Music so I knew not to pick up . My Mom was worried for me and my friend said call the police for phone harassment. this went on about 1-11/2 hours then stopped.   BUT NOW the scarey Part comes he called before I looked up your website!!! This Called had a thick Indian accent and wouldnt answer my questions but be vague Again he asked about $300.00 and how he could make it easier for me to pay and said "I'm here to work with you' AND then the BOMB dropped he had the GALL to tell me that "in 4 days you will shut down, you will no longer use your computer it will expire" WHAT   do you mean 'my accout or whatever virus protection company will SHUT DOWN my computer !?!?   "yes" me---yes what OR no what?    David--- no we will not shut down your computer we will exterminate services.   me-EXPLAIN!--- after some time going aroud in circles and Knowing I ONLY have 4 DAYS Leff before he puts up a fake window or something so that I can't even go to google or delet the FAKE freeze thing I'm now running scared till Wednesday!!! And again THE battery in MY Phone died---Again!!!! AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!! So that number now has a special Ringtone. HELP

Paula -

Your overly long post contained too much extraneous information.  It seems to indicate you do not know what is important, and what is not.

However, this part is important ... you said,
"The caller was Very friendly and used my/his curser to point to a music on my favorites bar "

That means the caller got into your computer.

Since the scammers accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• Disabled the anti-virus software
• Added nasty malware to the computer
• Copied the Contact List (so they can spam/email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• Copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• Compromised your ID on Facebook or other social site(s), and perhaps on shopping sites.
• "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet
• Deleted some important files
• Asked for money to repair the damage they caused

What can you do immediately after such an attack?
1.  Pull the cables on the computer, or otherwise disable it, so it cannot access the internet.
2.  Change ALL  passwords stored on the computer.
3.  Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4.  Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything.
5.  Inform your bank and credit card companies.
6.  Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
7.  Backup non-executable personal, data files to an external storage device.  (Executable files might be infected).
8.  You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
9.  Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you.
10.  Connect to the internet only AFTER all the above have been done.
11.  Change the passwords on all online accounts.  Even better - access a "safe", uninfected  computer, and change your online account passwords RIGHT NOW.

NOTE:
If your computer set a "Restore Point" while it was infected, any "System Restore" you make will re-infect your computer.  Suggest you delete any potentially infected restore points and avoid setting such restore points until after your computer has been thoroughly cleaned!

You fell for one scam, and might be susceptible to others mentioned on this site:

Read that info to educate and help protect yourself!

Honest computer companies do NOT cold-call people, or cause popups from websites to tell them their computers need fixing!

Some scammers even have websites, and falsely advertise they are associated with popular software packages or computer companies; so do NOT believe a "we will fix your computer remotely" site, and allow them access to your computer!

If your computer needs fixing, bring it to a local repair shop

You mentioned two websites.
The first one is for sale, and displays no information regarding computer problems
The second one is not registered (it does not exist)

Please re-read my earlier post for a list of things to do.

I suspect you may be the target of even more scams.  You may want to print out the following, and keep a copy near your phone.

Things to believe:

• "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch."
• If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, a car from a caller, or a grant from a gracious government
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet or hear on the phone is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to ask for money for a loan or prize, before awarding the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or a different famous software company, or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you Vanilla Card, GreenDot, MoneyGram, Western Union, iTunes or use ANY gift/money  card to send money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Geeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites, or a statement that your computer is infected.
• 876 is NOT your lucky number, and it will cost you money to call that area code!
• The number you see on your Caller ID may not be the number of the person who called you!
• The Do Not Call List works as intended.  It is NOT a call blocker!
