I just got off the phone with the same type of call. He said his name was Robert Brown and he was calling to let me know that I was being given grant money in the amount of $7,800.00. All I have to do is go to Western Union and put up $225.00 for about 3 minutes and of course have with me my I.D. and give them my grant number for verification. My husband gets letters all the time that are quite similar. "Send $20.00 and we will release to you 3,000,000.00. This is totally legitamit." So asked this Robert Brown why is it, that if I am being awarded $7,800.00 that I have to first pay you $225.00? He talked aroud my question and never did have an answer. I knew it was a scam as soon as I talked to him and because he sensed that I was sceptical, he told me that when I call the number of 202-621-0076I could just ask for him, Hw would take my call and walk me through the procedures to get my award! He started to get a little pissy with me when I kept questioning him about all of this! And I asked him why would an honest and legitamate offer like that require you to give them $225.00 up front for 3 minutes to get you money and then give back? I said that I would love the money but I don't have $225.00. He asked when I would have it and I responded that I wished I knew. He then asdked, how much do you have and I said absolutely nothing. I am no longer
working due to my health and a recent transplant and although I have applied for my SSD I still am waiting to heare vack. Probably wished he had not got me to call. He was Supposedly going living in Washington D.C. and like everyone else, he said I was picked for this deographic area by the Federal Government. He called from 354-879-5865. Hope someone gets these RATS!
