THEY WANT CITIZENS BANK INFORMATION TO DEPOSIT GRANT FUNDS. BULLSH@T. THE CALLER ID SHOWS UP NO CALLER ID. I ASKED HIM FOR HIS NAME AND I BELIEVE HE SAID "Malk" "M.A.L.K.". HE ALSO GAVE ME THIS NUMBER WHEN I ASKED HIM FOR A CONTACT NUMBER 202-986-5231. I GIVE 800notes.com the authority to FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES. I AM SICK OF THESE [***] SCAMMING THE INNOCENT. GOOD LUCK, DOGS. ALSO AFTER I TOLD HIM I WAS A VERY BUSY MAN.....HE HAD THE B@LLS TO SAY HE WAS BUSY TOO AND HUNG UP. The number they called me from is 0000121233.... This is totally a scam. I played along to see how much information I could gather on this scam. The woman on the other line had a very thick accent and told me she was calling from the U.S. Government and that I was eligible for a one time grant in the amount of $500. She asked me to confirm my name and so I gave her a fake name- she said "That is correct" then she asked me to confirm my birth date, so I gave her a fake date and again she said "That is correct you are confirmed." So obviously this is clearly a scam to gather information.
Next she told me my options for the "grant" were DIRECT DEPOSIT or WESTERN UNION. I told her neither and to just send me a paper check (just to see what she would say), of course she told me that cash or direct deposit was the only option and that I should really do direct deposit because the Western Union option would require me to send them a $100 processing fee. Ha!! SCAM!!!
So I pushed the envelope and asked what information do you need from me to get this grant? She gave me a "confirmation" number KS107 and told me I had to call her "manager" at 202-684-6935 to give them my bank account information. The call disconnected at this point and of course I didn't call the 202 number. PLEASE PEOPLE- THIS IS A SCAM! TELL ALL AND DO NOT GIVE THEM INFORMATION!
I suffered through the bad English to get the phone # to call, then looked up the number. I figured it was a scam. I see a 202 number frequently on my caller ID and wanted to hear the story. Looked up the number on this website. These poor people in India who think we don't know their real name is NOT Charles or Karen, I bet they call because they only get paid if someone actually follows through!
Received phone call advising me I was awarded government grant. phone # was 202 684 6935. Said they were from the "US government grant agency" and that they would wire grant money to western union location. SCAM.
