Received a phone call stating due to no debt, or arrests and a good tax paying citizen - I received a $9,000 grant that would be directly deposited within 45 minutes. Then they advised that I had to pay the $250 to help out other poor countries.
"Grant scammers generally follow a script: they congratulate you on your eligibility, then ask for your checking account information so they can “deposit your grant directly into your account,” or cover a one-time “processing fee.” The caller may even reassure you that you can get a refund if you’re not satisfied. In fact, you’ll never see the grant they promise; they will disappear with your money."
Or, yanno, in this case donate to their "charity" which is nothing more than their OWN bank account.
