Received a phone call stating due to no debt, or arrests and a good tax paying citizen - I received a $9,000 grant that would be directly deposited within 45 minutes. Then they advised that I had to pay the $250 to help out other poor countries.
Caller Ronald brown from "verification dept" called to say I was randomly selected by the U.S. Govt to receive a $9,000 once in a lifetime federal grant. Have callback number 202-697-9872 for a Cindy Spencer. She answered and said I would need to provide a $250 processing fee before the grant could be deposited into my checking or credit card account. Then they wanted me to give them information on my account. Snopes verified it as a scam.
