Got the exact same voice message as reported above from a woman with a pronounced accent who was a little difficult to understand. Reading messages received by others helped me piece it together & realize it must be the same caller.
I had a similar message on my phone when l got home today. She said "We have been trying to reach you for months and months"! That was the line that got me. Obviously bogus, thanks everyone for sharing, always glad to know others got the call too, and to help stop yet another scam.
Got the same message today and when I called back they wanted more information from me. When I refused to give them more information and asked what information they had they would not give it to me. I asked what address they had on file and they said some random one I've never even heard of. He then told me that he would be sending the police right away. I said go ahead I don't live there.
Received a call from 202-759-1891 saying that they were from the US Treasury Dept., Legal Affairs and if I ignored their call I would be arrested by local authorities. Glad to see additional post with same call. Now I know not to respond.
