from WI here, I got the same call this morning and listened to the vm, said same thing as others here have said," if you don't call back or your attorney calls back, all I can say is, best of luck to you, as  the situation unfolds on you."  Claiming to be IRS, Agent Brian...with Indian accent.  I called back, got same person to actually answer...he said "yes this is the IRS, what is your name?" I said your the IRS? He said "yes, Agent Brian, what is your name" so I gave him my name, I said what is your badge number? where are you calling from? he said, Oh I was looking for a 'different first name' sorry and hung up.  half hour later the same number called, I answered, it was a recording, same one.  When I called back, it just rang and then said disconnected.  I reported this to both the IRS, and FTC!  Please do NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION, OR PAY ANYONE.  The real IRS will ALWAYS contact you in the MAIL FIRST.  Please go to IRS websites.  The IRS NEVER ASKS FOR CREDIT CARDS, DEBIT CARDS OR ANY OTHER PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE!  The IRS wouldn't leave a sarcastic voicemail, saying things like, if you dont call, best of luck to you as it unfolds onto you.

I got a call at my old residence. The current resident called me and informed me that there was such call (same number), and I should immediately call.

Thanks to you guys, I came across this entry and immediately got suspicious, because I know for a fact I don't have anything owed to IRS. I called and Gaul Cooper, or someone with that name, picked up. I promptly flooded him with tons of questions about his status in the agency.

He gave me a faked IRS agent number (!), and I called him out for it. I asked him what IRS stands for, he said Internal "Reserve" something (hahaha!). His accent was Indian, but he was doing his best to conceal it. He also said that I owe "them" (not IRS) $3,000. After I called him a fraud, and he should be very worried because people don't frack with the U.S. government, especially IRS, he hung up.

A subsequent calls (8 in total), I got a message that the number is out of service (he had blocked me). I am going to report them when I get a chance.
