Got the same call today, foreign lady by name of Rachel Green, also said i received this grant for 9,000.00 dollars,because my name was picked with 1,500 other people I paid my taxes, no bankruptcies, and made my house payments on time etc.... Scam, asked to purchase a registration card from the federal reserve bank in New York, New York. Told to not reveal any information from this call or the cinformatiin I.D. code given, call her before I went into Walmart for exact information on what card to purchase plus a sixteen digit number on the registration card, because I didn't apply for this grant, I had to fill out this registration card so it would be tax free and free of IRS. sounded too good, I did however applied for a government grant recently, but she said it wasn't the same application because I was picked by the federal government to be issued this money by random. Life could be peachy if these scams were valid, but peaches do spoil quickly in the heat of the moments of 15 minutes!
Recieved call from 202-780-9346 and telling my pay walgreens 280 dollars ohio is not a tax free state I don't feel like I should realy trust them but don't know I think its a scam.
Just got a call from them saying that they were with the Federal Government grant Dept. and I was chosen to receive a "One time free grant" from the Federal government. This grant was in the form of $9,000.00, I was chosen at random for paying my taxes on time, not having filled for bankruptcy, and having good credit. I was given 3 options to receive this money. 1.) give them a checking or savings account number, 2.) visa or Master card number, 3.) if I didn't feel safe giving them this info, choose a Walmart or Western Union to have the funds sent to. All I needed to do was to call back their supervisor at 202-780-9346 and give them a verification number. As far as I know, the Federal Government does not give money for free if you didn't apply for it.
Same here. I was suspicious from the start but I called the number to check it out. Obama does like to give money away so what the heck. But then last thing they said was pay walmart for western union 250 dollar then we send. And there it is. Never send money to get money.
