This D C number calls at least twice a day. I have devised a perfect response to them and ALL RoBo callers. If I don't answer before the 5th ring my Fax machine picks it up and they get that Very annoying noise of beeps and squeeks . Ha Ha M F
The lady asked for me by name and said, "I need to stop posting on Fastnotes.com and I needed to get on the Trump Train." She said she was calling from the "Tea Party Majority".
Caller ID says "Washington DC". They leave no message.
I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number). Their outgoing message identifies them as the "Tea Party Majority". They provide a web site address, www.TeaPartyMajority.org, for additional info. There is an option to be placed on their Do-Not-Call list (I never do this as it can actually make things worse).
I actually visit their site. It is pretty brief and the tone just doesn't seem to match what I would expect from people who are truly dedicated to the goals of the Tea Party. I get the impression that the site is just window dressing and is there to add a faux legitimacy to a group that has no political goals and just wants your money.
If they are legit, I would expect a caller ID that reflects who they are.
FYI, according to Politico, only about 1% of their donations actually do anything for the Tea Party. If you wish to support the TP, I suggest finding another organization.
They called me and started by being very rude. After I said hello, the caller said "May I speak to Jeff, hello, is anyone there" even after I responded after the first phrase. Even by telemarketer scam standards, that's overly pushy. Little doubt this is a scam on some level. Even if it's a legal organization, it's going to be one that takes 90% or more of every dollar they raise, leaving almost nothing left for the cause they claim to support.
