KM & Chris: There are many who read these posts when receiving such calls. If the data is already stated being
redundant makes no sense. I do leave msgs when I get suspicious calls and let peeps know. Yes many more should
be checking this sight. These calls using the telephone go to "conditioned response people" who just can't leave the phone alone. IF someone really knows you and wishes to speak with you the caller will leave a VM. Otherwise /ig the calls that don't validate their call to your phone. Also these calls are placed by robocall devices to a bank of numbers at one entry and there is no heed to DNC or other registries. Calls come in on my business/home phone all the time so I know I have to be vigilant about watching incoming calls.
Survey company wanting to talk to members of AARP or those who are on Social Security. When I told him we didn't receive either, he hung up on me. Nice! VERY classy. I called back and pressed 1 to be removed from their list. Pisses me off, we are on the DO NOT CALL list.
Doubt you'll see this response but others may. You need to go to the FTC website a read the FAQ on exactly what the Do Not Call list does and does not cover and how it works. Political survey calls of this type are exempt but they must place you on their internal Do Not Call list if you ask them to. Unfortunately, that is not permanent since it only applies to the specific survey they are calling about but not the next one or anything from a different client. Some call centers of this type do offer blanket opt outs but again they are not permanent and usually have to be renewed annually.
