I RECIEVED A CALL FROM THIS # 202-864-1161AND I COULD HARDLEY UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WAS SAYING. HE SAID THAT HE WAS FROM THE TREASURY DEPT AND THAT THERE WAS A WARRENT OUT FOR MY ARREST FOR NOT PAYING MY 2012 TAXES. HE THEN SAID THAT IF I PAID IT IN FULL HE COULD STOP THE WARRENT. A FRIEND LOOKED UP THE # AND IT SAID THAT IT WAS A SCAM # ALSO THIS # CAME UP AS WELL +251-626-5863 WHICH IS A LOCAL # BUT IT BELONGS TO A CUSTOMER WHERE I WORK??? ...BE CAFEFUL!!!
Received two phone calls in the same day with the same recorded message claiming to be a Criminal IRS investigator, to call back to 202-803-5024. Looks like I was right in suspecting it's a scam. IRS website didn't have clear guidance on how to report recorded messages such as this.
With all the technology we have we can't catch and prosecute scammers as brazenly stupid as this? Sadly, people fall for things like this everyday. I stopped answering my phone 10 years ago - I screen every call with my answering machine, and reverse look up every number that comes across my caller ID. Not any way to live...
Please beware of this phone number, this is a scam! I received 3 messages from this number, saying that they have received serious allegations against our name from Criminal Investigation of Internal Revenue Service. I called that number and spoke with John Frasier, I was hearing cars and buses in the background during the conversation. I didn't feel right about it....and called the IRS (at 1 800 829 1040). The IRS checked our files and said that there was nothing wrong about it and confirmed that the message I've received was indeed a scam, please beware! According to IRS, they will send you a certified mail if there's really an issue that needs to be resolved.
This has been going on for weeks, sometimes twice a day or more ! This is same group, I am certain that keeps changing numbers with different scams. Need to have them stopped
I received 3 calls from this number I answered the 3rd time they called It was a recorded message claiming to be a criminal investigator for the IRS identified himself as Officer John Francis
