Received a call with the same number IRS number and call back #2028083644. When I call them back asking about what the mail letter and what are the charges. They could not answer. It's again heavy Indian accent trying to immitate the American. I am going to check with the local police station to see I should lodge a complaint.-AD
Sunil -- This is a Scam. Do not even bother responding. These guys are in some boiler room in India and use an automated dialer. If u do not respond, they will call for a few days and eventually give up. Also, in some of these cases, they also follow-up with a call stating that they are from the local police and they are about to issue a non-bailable arrest warrant. This is pure nonsense. Any idiot cannot just issue a warrant without due process.

Today 4-14-2014 I received a call from 1-800-829-1040 twice, the caller with European accent claimed to be from the IRS Office, He left me a voice mail message on my home phone asking me to call the IRS immediately, otherwise I will be arrested and or deported. He said that I was in trouble and owe taxes and must pay asap. Even though, The caller ID shows 800-829-1040 which the IRS phone line, but he asked me to call a different number which is 202-808-3644. This is a very sophisticated scam, best thing to do is to ignore these calls. do not even call back
Be aware it is a scam, if you really owe Taxes, and you are in trouble, trust me the IRS Agents will show up at your door step with their guns drawn and you would be indicted, arrested and taken to jail.
These people calls me EVERYDAY. Keep stating that I've won $450,000. Tax free money. In order for me to receive the money I must send them $4,500. Insurance purposes or something like that. As broke as I am, they really don't need to play with me like that. So I told their dumb [***] that I've already sent that "insurance fee" through Western Union. And now they are looking for it. Good luck finding it. Idiots!!!!
