They called me twice and hung up on me twice (once I threatned to record them and the other time I asked to send me in writing) I called them back 3x after they hung up on me. They pick up stating:"IRS...blah blah". But they could not hang on to my questions....and they hung up on me 3 times. I actually stalked them more than they did me.....lol
TOTAL SCAM!!! Called the DAY AFTER TAXES FILED!! Leaves message that I commited FRAUD AND AM DELINQUENT! SCAM SCAM SCAM! I called back and the barely able to understand the thick INDIAN accent, I am told (NO NAME) he is an IRS Investigator and that they are issuing a WARRANT FOR MY ARREST as I have commited fraud and owe money from the last EIGHT TO TEN YEARS! So, would I like to resolve the issue now or should he call the local police to issue the arrest warrant?!?! I asked him to PLEASE, LET'S CALL THE POLICE AND GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS. ****SURPRISE SURPRISE, HUNG UP ON ME!!!***** WEIRD HUH???
A man called our house number and left message that their was an error on our taxes and we needed to call the number 202-836-9550. He told us to call him back immediately. He said his extension is 8001. I am not pleased about this scam and I would like someone to look into catching this guy portraying a IRS employee.
Not much chance of that. Callers are hard core Indian and Pakistani scammer/extortionists. As such they are beyond the reach of US law. Occasionally US-based money mules are arrested, but for the most part nothing can be done. Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on numbers you do not recognize.
