They call claiming to be the IRS and threatening that a lawsuit is about to be out against you. And that a officer will be on its way to arrest you if you don't pay now. This is a scam IRS will notify you by mail not by phone call or email. Do your research online before you freak out or let them scare you into thinking it's true. Best way is to look up actual IRS number and call to verify if this is true.
I got a call too and they left a voice mail. I agree with Lou. IRS would not call; they would not post an officer to arrest anyone and they definitely will notify by mail. How stupid do these callers think we are? But with those that succumb I guess they find a sucker once in a while.
They called May 16 and 17 at exactly 11am. Today on May 17 I returned the phone call back. It was a recording saying that they were the IRS and to please leave a message. I left my name and phone number because I freaked out a little. Great, now they have my name and phone number. Should I block this Number?
