I was told I was getting a grant in the amount of $9200...lol.
They needed my banking info for a direct deposit and I needed to pay a fee to release. The money to me......lol.
I told them to send me a paper check and deduct the fees I need to pay from the amount they're giving me and then send me the balance...lol.
What do you guys think happened.....
They hung up
Yet another scary phone call! Not really, however I am sick of these people thinking that the public is stupid enough to believe their phony messages left on anyone's cell phone. The best part was them wising me luck if I choose to ignore the phone call.
As soon as I called back they asked for my first and last name. I did not give them either. Instead I asked them what it was regarding and he said the only thing he knew was " Income taxes" When he again asked for my name I ignored his request. He then hung up on me. When I called him back, it went to a busy signal - alas I was blocked from them. Darn.
To proceed further I called the number from a landline phone - Got the same song and dance, and they asked for my name. I asked what it was regarding before I would give him my name. He hung up on me. Called back - again blocked from that phone number.
Called a 3rd time from another phone line and got right thru - I let them know that I was reporting this number and soon they will not be able to doop the American people out of anything with stupid scare tactics. If only I could include the message in here, because at the end of it the computer automated lady tells me "that if I choose to ignore them, then all she can do at that point is wish me good luck - as it is in my hands what happens." Your darn right automated lady - It was in my hands what happens. And here is is - Informing the public.
Thank you for posting I just got the same message I thought it was a scam but wasn't sure now I am These sort of people will pay for their ways in the end shame on them
Just got this an hour ago, call comes from "Washington ", I don't know anyone there so I let it go to voice mail. Same ominous message, and admit it did scare me a bit! But the fact that the message wasn't addressed to me by name was a dead giveaway. Wish I knew how to report this, but will post a warning on Facebook to others about this scam.
I just received this call and called back when a young Indian won a answered the phone and asked the same thing, when I informed her that I was younger than 18 she hung up. I called again 3 Times and another guy answered and I told him the same thing, without revealing my real name, and he too hung up. I'm still laughing butt off LOL
