"Officer Eric Foster" called me on June 18th. Left a nasty threatening voice mail about being arrested and bad things befalling us if we didn't call back immediately or come to the court house. We had issues with taxes a few years back and are intimately aware of how the IRS does business, so I knew it was a scam. So I called him back. He answered the phone with "hello", which only served to piss me off more. We had a conversation about who he was trying to call. He actually had my husbands name. I  told him we were fine on our taxes and he told me in no uncertain terms that I would have to take proof of that to the court house in DC...to which I responded with "Who Are You?" he hung up on me....Bad Move!!! I called back, he refused to answer...so I left him a wonderful message like the one he left me. Menacing and Threatening...only my message was fully truthful. I have contacted the IRS. They are aware of this scam and are working on resolving the issue.

If you get a call from this number, do NOT give them any information. Hang up. If they call back, do what I do. Call them. Harass the hell out of them until they leave you alone. It only took one time talking to me for the guy to leave me alone.

I received a threatening call from this number on 6/18/14, from a man who identified himself as Officer Eric Foster.  No information given, except that he needed to hear from my attorney on this "time sensitive" issue, and if I didn't respond, then "good luck as this badly unfolds" on me.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
