Someone with a slight foreign accent, gave his name as Kevi, called claiming he's the IRS Hotline number and that a legal criminal case has been filed against you. He asked for my SSN then started yelling and hung up. THIS IS A BIG SCAM!! Be ware!! IRS will never yell at you..
Someone called us on Friday claiming he's the IRS hotline and said there is a legal criminal case has been filed against you. and he asked my SSN and wasn't really ready to listen what we were trying to tell and also said he is not going to repeat and hung up on us..when we called back he was literally yelling
The IRS does NOT call you if you owe back taxes or penalties - they mail you a letter. They certainly do not call and threaten you with a criminal case or charges. Report your caller to the real IRS at www.irs.gov.
