The caller left a message and said she was "Susan (no last name)" from Federal Investigation Department calling to inform me that there was a case filed against my name. She added that if I did not call back the case would be proceeded in a legal way....when I called back a voice message answered saying "Thank you for calling. We are currently closed." The voice machine had no mentioning about the name of the office or the organization. I mean, I believe any governmental office or even company office would mention their name in their answering machine, don't they? If they call me again I will take as much information as possible about THEM and see what information of mine is leaked out there so that I can file a report with the real FBI.
Just got a call from # 203/340 6914. Lady said her name is Sarah Wilson, with strong Indian accent. Said that I've been investigated by IRS and FBI (wtf) for not reporting correct amount on my income tax, and because I've been receiving/sending money overseas and not reporting it (really like that $2,000 I sent to my momma will be investigated by FBI). As of right now I owe $3500, and I need to pay immediately.
I asked her if she was a scammer - on which she replied that since I am disrespecting her, she will be sending authorities to my home now, to arrest me. And she hang up. I called back and she said - Im done talking to you, wait for police at home-they coming to get you.
Here's warning from IRS about calls like that, it's very helpful. http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Repeats-Warning-about-Phone-Scams
Sndy, I said the same thing, but lady with Indian accent said that IRS sent letters several times and I ignored.
Then I have asked to send priority /certified mail , but her excuse was about today's dead line. While she was on the phone with me, I found this site :)
