Have called my cell 5 or 6 times in last week. I never answer unknown numbers. My VM actually records end of their message, but I have no idea who they are or what they're selling. Wondering how long before they stop calling an unanswered number. Possibly my VM picking up is why they keep calling though. Hate hate hate these scumbags. Too bad it must keep paying for them to do it. Stupid ppl keep them in business.
got robocall from 203-538-0911 caller ID said "R2J2 Company" on Monday 08-05-13 @ 433 PM.
message talked about the FBI reports a break in every..........the system will be free if you will allow us to put a sign in your yard. Press 1 to talk to a representative or 9 to be put on our do not call list. Pressed 1 and the call took me to another recording "you are the 10th caller.........down to the next caller on the list".
A live male finally came on the line and said "Security Technologies". I said Hello. He again said "Security Technologies". I then said "Well you called me." He asked "Are you interested in a Home Security System?"
I said "Yes, I am." The SCAMMER then hung up.
IT IS A SCAM, there is no company, there are no services provided, there is no home security, there is no sign. ALL IT IS IS THEFT. That's all these criminals want to do is steal, steal your identities, steal your banking/credit card information. NEVER EVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE, especially to random callers. Not address, not full name, not email address, definetly not home address, personal information, banking/credit card information and social security information.
This scam has been going on for a while and has been reported in the national news and every major newspaper. Just google.
The number is fake. They spoof/disguise their numbers to avoid detection. A computer calls your house and then when you press a button, you are forwarded to a criminal operation where criminals try to steal.
Dont call the number back, dont press any buttons, dont press any buttons to be taken off the list, dont even bother complaining to them. THEY ARE CRIMINALS. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL. THEY DONT CARE. Why should you?
Report the call(s). Report every single one. Reporting here just warns people who already know. Warn others as well. Let neighbors, coworkers, family members know that Telemarketing scams are on the rise. Avoid being dooped by identifying the signs. ROBO TELEMARKETING CALLS ARE 100% COMPLETELY ILLEGAL. IF you recieve one, they are breaking the law and probably a scam. The caller ID is always an indicator that it is a scam. There is no company. Wierd ID like NAME NOT FOUND, or UNKNOWN NAME or some service thats you didnt ask for are clear signs. IF it is a robo call, just hang up, it is guaranteed to be a scam. IF the call is coming from outside your calling area or unknown, then yes, it is a fake number and a scammer is trying to scam you. The numbers are not coming from the calling area. Most come from the NE.
REPORT THE CALL, IGNORE THEM, WARN OTHERS, DONT BOTHER HARRASSING THEM OR PRESSING ANY BUTTON. You will receive more call, unfortunetly, but the less people who are dooped
the less calls we will all receive, and don't take it personal. CRIMINALS DONT CARE.
