Got a call from this number this morning. It was a pre-recorded message stating my car warranty had expired or will expire soon. I got to talk with the 15 year old sounding girl that a few people have mentioned relating to other similar phone numbers.
Of course would not give me a call back number nor address and said that the company was called Warranty Help Desk.
For those of you wondering what you can do with their number that comes through on caller ID...here's what you do:
1) Call your phone company. Since they called my cell phone (which is already against the law) I got them to block the number for free.
2) Lodge a complaint with the FCC at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
called my at&t cell at 12:33pm today. I didn't answer. They did not leave a message. I called 203-608-5006 back from a hunt line at work. The only thing the message states is press 1 to be put on their Do NOt Call list - if you do nothing, then you get dead air - then it disconnects you.
Automated system called re: "real insurance, press 1 for more info." Pressed 1. Directed the person to remain on the line and answer my questions, starting with "may I please have the full legal name of your company." Person refused, asked if I wanted to be put on their DNC list. I insisted that she answer my question. She didn't, apparently added my number to their DNC list, and hung up on me. Call was recorded. When called, the number reports as "all circuits busy."
