i have looked up this number 202-470-3185 its a cell number the phone carrier level 3 communications LLC-DC WASHINGTON.DC DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA if we can find this much out on them then why cant they be stop
yep, got the exact same call... said from u.s. Govt. wanted my bank info or cc # to make the $8,000 payment to my acct. I told them I wasnt going to give them that info. and they could send it to my address, dont know how they got that info either... they asked, "then how are we going to deposit the $8K,,," I told them I guess u wouldnt, and hung up:)
A lady call me with a heavy accent saying the same thing. She wanted my checking account number so that when I called the confirmation number (202-470-6711) they would have proof it is me. I told her no and then I dialed the number. I got no answer or answering machine. I called the number the lady called from and got a "not in service message"
They much be using a caller id device that allows them to code any number and it shows up on the phone as where they are calling from.
Since when does the government give away money over the phone? They don't!
Don't ever give you account information over the phone unless you are sure of who you are talking to.

I received a cal;l from 203-756-9834 a man with an Indian accent(very broken English) said he was with the US Government and I had been selected to receive an $8000 grant (one of less than one hundred in the state of Oklahoma). He wanted my bank account information so that the money could be direct deposited. I refused to give it to him, I told him I did not know who he was or that he was really with US Gov. He gave me an other number (202-470-2476) and told me to ask for Brandon Wards who is supposed to be a US accountant for gov grants. I looked up both numbers and did not call the second one.
I have received several call from this number over the past several days. I answered the call today and the person asked for Theresa and stated his name was Jason from US Financial Grants Company in Washington DC. I stated I was not interested and to please take my number off their list. The caller became very verbally abusive and several times stated he was going to F*** me and called me a son-of-a-b***. He said if I stayed on the line he would continue to curse at me. I explained I was sapting the call and he responded that he didn't f***ing care.
