home security here too..said they were from Microsoft getting reports of problems...I asked how they got my phone # and he said to just turn on my computer and they would fix the problem I asked again and he said database I told him he was full of crap and he hung up
I, too, received the call from this number that showed as "Home Security". The person said that he was from the network security division of Tech Department and that he was the tech who had "helped me before" (he even asked why I didn't remember him).
He advised me that my computer had hacker and virus activity on it and needed me to go to "teamviewer.com". He then directed me to provide him the login and password information so that he could log into my computer and "fix" it.
Obviously, do not give them any means to access your computer. They can steal data, infect it (and then sell you virus removal services), hijack your data (and sell it back to you) or use your machine/network for their own purposes.
