Just received a message from "Atty Shawn Woods, State Atty General" at that number. When I dialed the number, the person who answered just said, "Hello. How may I help you?" They didn't identify theirself, they didn't identify what business I had reached, or anything, so I hung up. The man sounded a lot like someone who's been harrassing me at work and leaving several messages on my phone each and every day.
I also got a call from this number - showed up as emergency call 911 and then next time the phone number. I called them back and said I was from the FBI and I had a warrant for the arrest of "Officer John Lewis" at the Birmingham AL States Attorney Office - that tomorrow at 8am the FBI would be waiting to take him into custody at his place of work. Let's see if that doesn't stop him calling me.
I have received a few calls too from this number. It is actually a call center in India trying to scam people out of money. I was advised by an attorney friend to file a police report and alert social security office for any attempted credt fraud. This company is being investigated by the FTC, but so far that cannot find the exact source.
I have been receiving calls from this number for weeks now, claiming all the same as everyone else. They have extremely strong accents with generic American names. Bigtime fraud! Who can I report them to?
