This number called and threatened me saying I had an on line debt which I do not owe anyone anything. I told them I was not paying so they proceed to call friends and relatives. They tried this 2 years ago too!
This number called my father in law of all people saying that I owed some type of money. He did not take a very good message so I'm not sure what they told him. I don't owe anyone anything, and I've never used my father in law as a reference for anything. I don't even really like the guy, so I'd definitely never list him on any type of credit application. Hopefully he doesn't go bad mouthing me around town saying I don't pay my bills because of this.
They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.
