just got call stating IRS IS SUING ME that i need to call immediately. at first my thought was i owe nothing! THEY OWE ME! LOL so this is scam for sure. my pulse has calmed TF down.
I got that same message on my answering machine. This is absolutely a scam. First of all if the IRS has a problem with your tax returns, they will notify you with an official notice and give you a time limit within which to respond, providing you with the proper contact information and details of what the problem is. They will send follow-up notices for so long before they send an official to your address to meet with you face to face, should you continue to ignore their notices. They may call, but they will provide complete contact information, as well as, stating who they are addressing, so that it is clear what the call is about. This call provides neither the name of the person they are "suing" nor the person that should be contacted regarding this matter, so that is an immediate indication that they are trying to find a gullible person to bilk money out of. Don't fall for it. Report it to your local police or go online to report it to the proper authorities. Good luck!
Received an IDENTICAL message on home phone voice mail! Was automated message! Had called my CPA and they advised was definitely a SCAM! Were demanding a CALL BACK...to 206-249-7322, because this was a FINAL NOTICE and that they would be filing SUIT!! There had been absolutely NO prior notices, mailings, or other communications from the IRS in any such regard or otherwise??
