Received call from this number and I didn't answer so I had to call them back. I knew right away it wasn't the IRS because IRS employees immediately identify themselves with their number. This person answering phone asked me for the number I received the call from, this is because they use that to then tell you your name and it seems like they are more legitimate.
Person on phone also gave me some stupid 6 digit badge number and told me they were calling on behalf of Danny Green's office but the more I spoke with them the more ridiculous the call got. I played along with them for about 20 minutes, well because if they mess with me I was going to play with them. At the end when they asked how much cash I had on me I told them only $700. I had the call on speaker phone by that time with several people in the office, everyone in my office started laughing out loud and we actually made fun of the idiot impersonating the IRS and the individual called me a few names and hung up, but we were all laughing in my office.
Message saying to call 206.289.0980 that they had been trying to get in touch with me regarding my taxes and how the IRS was going to file a law suit against me. I called they asked for the number and then they knew everything about me, my name, address and date of birth. I had a hard time understanding the "agent" as he rattled of his ID# and my case number. I asked what it was about and he said that from 2005-2010 there had been miscalculations done. Since all I have is 1 W2 I don't see where it could have gone wrong. I asked for a supervisor and was asked to hold, heard a few seconds of music, then the dial tone. Hung up on me. Trying to call back and now is always busy. SCAM. How do they get away pretending to be the IRS?

The number it came in on was not this one - it came in, rang once and went to voice mail so somehow they are bypassing outgoing messages to leave their message.
got a call from number 737-434-2127 which is a texas number saying that I'm getting a lawsuit filed against me. Called the number that was left to call and it is 206-289-0980. Goes to a direct person not an IVR like the IRS has.
I got the same message from (735)-414-2827 and was told to call 206-289-0980. When I did everything went so fast, and they hooked me emotionally when the said that there is a civil arrest warrant out on me and they will have the sheriff's dept pick me up at my work or at home. then I'll be held for 48 hours and then taken to appear at a hearing. I asked them where the due process was, that I should have been noticed but I never received anything from them and asked when they sent out any notice to me. Vaguely I was told that two notices were sent out last year, and an email. Told them I never received them, and then the guy with an Indian accent who was very hard to understand told me that it was too late and that file has been transferred for enforcement and that since I didn't respond to the letters, that it's now with them. He said his name was Mike Levin who then told me that he would now transfer me to another officer. I finally told him that I believed I was being scammed or someone was playing a bad joke on me. It ended where they hung up on me, and then tried to call me back. Rat [***]. I reported them to the IRS. Don't know if it'll do any good.
