I just got a call from this number, from a FAX machine. They called my WORK number (not the fax #) at 7:08pm cst on a SUNDAY night. Geesh.
Google searching doesn't show a business name. Probably some doofus trying to sell me health insurance or a cruise package.
automated call claiming to give away free home security systems to homeowners
best defense - register you telephone number on the Federal DNC list, then file a complaint every time someone does this to you. DNC violations carry heavy penalties. You can strike back, you can shut them down by using the system to your advantage.
Yup, I have been registered on DNC list for well over a year. I also filed a complaint on the website of the telco provider. I intend to report EACH call and encourage everyone else to do the same. Check out the fines for your state to get an idea of how easily this company can be forced to into bankruptcy for unethical behavior. In my State, The Attorney General may bring civil action for up to $10,000 per violation, that would be an expensive phone call for ANY company.
I just received a call from (206) 397-1535 about 5 minutes ago. There was an automated message about certain finances. I was asked if I agree and would like to be considered, I should click on the "one"...I wish I had a heavy hammer and click it on the head of the caller, but he was so much of a "sissy" that he did not have the courrage to identify himself, except calling himself XYZ.
