Had this number on my cell phone the other day--no message left. Today I answered, and no one said anything, but got a beep, and then call ended. Almost disappointed I didn't get to tell them they will be reported as a scam!
**SCAM** Do not give anyone any personal info over the phone. I work at a bank and we get customers all the time that have fallen for these scams. This # called me and as stated previously- middle eastern accent- can't understand very well. Also my 10 yr old received this same call. He hung up on them just like I've told him to do. We're registered with the Do Not Call list and it doesn't work. I'm beginning to think they are part of the problem. Our calls started mostly after that was started; makes you wonder. My cell# is never used for any business contacts so I know it's not received from credit cards, banks, etc. or their 3rd party contacts. It's for personal use only. That leaves these calling lists being received from AT&T or the Do Not Call Registry which is the only entity that has the cell# except personal contacts. Maybe they are publishing or selling these # contact lists to others.
I believe they are just dialing sequential numbers. They don't necessarily have your number they are just trying all number...They called my wife's cell number also which is the next sequental number after mine...
They called me today 1/10/13, said I filled out an online survey for a Walmart Gift card, and indicated that i was looking for a job, non of which is true. Hope they never call me again. :(
Something about me taking an online survey about jobs. Obviously I have been employed with the same company for 7 years and would not give my work number out to an online survery about employment. Does anyone else who is getting these calls happen to work for a certain large aerospace company in the Seattle area? I'm wondering if it because of those stolen laptops with PII on them!
