Don't you know? ... "Political Surveys" are exempt from the DNC list!
ANYONE can call your number by just saying they want you to answer a few of their survey questions first. THEN they ask for your credit card numbers and any other information they can con you into giving them.
Call came in tp my cell around noon PST on 4/24/2012 (caller ID said "[No Name]". Picked up and heard a pre-recorded message, "This is John from Political Opinions of America...". I hung up. If this is really a political call or survey, unfortunately it's exempt from the FTC Do Not Call registry.
However, there's a grassroots organization trying to stop political robocalls. You can try it, but be aware it's voluntary on the part of the politicians to use it: http://stoppoliticalcalls.org/
Their website says that if you report unwanted political calls to them, they will work to hold elected officials accountable. Worth a shot?
They called and when I answered they hung up. Not sure who this number belongs to, but I know for a fact there should not be any one in Washington State calling me for any reason.
