You are so right! Whenever people ak for my phone number, I just say no. I don't even answer the phone unless I know who it is! IND SURVEY GROUP, you are blocked!
The reason you get this message that the number is 'not in service' because, it, in fact, *is* not in service. The people calling you are using a computer program to HIDE their REAL number, which is probably being generated from OVERSEAS. They intentionally search for numbers in the U.S. that are NOT being used currently, although I, personally, have received calls that looks like, on my own caller ID that MY OWN phone/number is calling itself! This is called SPOOFING.
They use COMPUTERS to "Robodial" dozens or HUNDREDS of numbers at once. (You're right, they DO use lists that they purchase/steal for others.) They only have so many 'operators' in a call center standing by; the first so many that pick up and say 'Hello" or something else get booted to the TELEMARKETERS in the FOREIGN CALL CENTERS to try and SWINDLE you. The REST of the dialed calls get DROPPED, which is why you get so many hangups or 'dead' calls/messages.
These people are CRIMINALS, which is why they must hide like this. The calls you are getting are part of a PHISHING Scam,meaning they use a LIE to try and get critical personal or financial information out of you. These people are using the RUSE of a FAKE 'political survey' about the upcoming presidential election to then tell you you've 'won' a 'free' cruise, just for participating. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!! The CRUISE is NON-EXISTENT and they ask for YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER for so-called 'taxes and fees'. If you fall for it you will be charged HUNDREDS of DOLLARS and could possibly have your IDENTITY STOLEN and your CREDIT RUINED.
Don't fall for it. DON'T ANSWER any number you do not recognize. Press 'Ignore" on your cell, pick up/hang up immediately without answering or let ALL of the calls go to voicemail. (They rarely leave messages.)
Unfortunately, they CHANGE the SPOOFED number they use almost DAILY, so blocking their numbers is difficult, at best. (Some phones/systems allow you to block whole area codes, but often this is not practical, especially for businesses.)
And, even though its frustrating at times, it is important to REPORT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE CALLS to the DoNotCall List. If your numbers are not registered, do so. It is quick, easy and free. It will not STOP these calls, but is the only way for the government to take action (such as putting a BLOCK on the SPOOFED number(s) they use, after getting 'enough' complaints about an individual number.) The government MUST be on their tail, otherwise they wouldn't change their number so often.
And yes, I'm here because *I* got the call this morning (9:22AM) from these SOB's - AGAIN. You are lucky you've only been getting these calls for two weeks; I've been getting them for OVER 5 years!
I got a call from my own phone number once and I changed the number too. These peoples has been calling me since april 2012 using different phone numbers and names. I don't usually answer my phone but mistakely answer it two time and quickly hung up, "Hello this is Sarah" I'm getting more calls now and I will change this number if it keep going on. I did call this number around 12:00am one night and got the same recording this number is unavailable please call later.

And u are right it does say Sur group Ind, thats the phone number who calls constantly, its frustrating, but the worst thing about it there are people who are being taken advantage of because of what some criminals from another country feel that they have the right to do!!! Swindle, scam, lie and take what does not belong to them!! Its wrong no matter what the circumstances may be. Im a woman of GOD and I know that they will stand before GOD and be judged for every call, every dollar they ever received!! Im gonna end on this again thank u!!
