ever since i submitted a political survey, i have been getting calls from this 206 area code with 496 as the next numbers and various numbers for the last 4. i have already submitted my number on the "do not call" list. I guess i need to do it again to prevent these calls. i never even gave my phone number in the survey either...so how did they get it????
I just got a call from this number. Not recognizing the number, I didn't answer - that's the great thing about Caller ID...
These people are a pain in the xxx definitely, and be that as it is, I really don't think this website is the place for the kind of comment made by another poster here - that's you George!
If you don't have Caller ID, then do as I use to do when I didn't have it - blow a police whistle into the phone as loud as you can! Or better yet, record the sound of a flushing toilet to your voice mail and let them listen to that...
I've got rid of more of these kinds of calls by using those simple tactics than the Do Not Call List nonsense ever did...
