Download the "Disconnect Ring Tone" and play it whenever you get a call such as this. Note there is a pause between your picking up your phone before someone answers. This is the computer determining whether it has reached a valid number. If you play the disconnect tone, the computer automatically removes you from their calling directory.
I received a call from 209-496-0985 this afternoon, June 25, 2012 about 1:30pm, and the caller ID just said 'Washington'. My answering maching picked up, but the caller did not leave a message. Since I don't know anyone in Washington State I am assuming it was a telemarketing call even though I am on the Do Not Call list.
