I just received a call from 206-508-7150 with a "robo call" approach stating the same bs as you can read about in the other complaints on this blog. Felony charges, serve you at your place of employment and at your residence, etc... Something about a payday loan that i supposedly took out in 2008! Funny that when i got an almost identical call just last week from an entirely different number stating the exact same thing (with the exact same case #), i asked the caller for the address of the firm she was calling from. She stated that she was not at liberty to give that information out. Wow!!! Not to mention, she sounded like a half-ignorant, honeybun munching moron on the phone... I told her to send me something in writing that stated the case, and she replied that "she doesn't send anything in writing". She wanted $700 that very minute to supposedly make "pending felony charges" just disappear... Really? In what con-us court jurisdiction is that ever a possibility? When i told her that i had absolutely no means of paying that type of money at that very moment, she proceeded to "offer" me a different settlement option of double - $1,400 with $482 due within 24 hours and the remainder to be determined. This was after she threatened to disposition my case file as "refusal to pay". The company name she used was "the division of capital risk & assoc" but "you can just abbreviate it as "legal department". Then she went on about how she is part of the state of washington, etc... I have done extensive searching to a point of exhaustion on this. There is no such agency within the state of washington. "mrs. Caldwell" as she claimed was her name is listed nowhere with the state of washington. Anyway, i could go on and on, but i won't. Do not let these a**holes intimidate or scam you. This is extortion! Plain and simple!
This number left a message on my cell phone calling themselves "division of pretrial processing" and that "two allegations had been filed against me." They went on to say that they would be pursuing me "at my place of employment and residence" and that I had a legal right to "settle with the plaintiff outside of court" - but if I did not, then I would have to go to court. They left a second number for me to call 251-301-9797, as well as giving me a "case number."
I got this same call today (and periodically over the last few weeks). Almost word for word. I used to be close friends with a claim adjuster ... and have been the recipient of actual court filings. If it's real, you'll get *lots* of information by the postal mail (registered or couriered). You don't get a robo-call. This is a scam.
Thanks for your post & yes, very correct. As they say in these situations - 'You've got mail'. A phone call without something from US Post is meaningless.
I recieve this same call originates from 206-508-7150 says to call 501-703-0910 , I have been recieving these calls weekly they all say the same thing 2 allegations/ pre trial processing. Total scam.
Got a Robo call today 206-508-7150
They stated I have 2 days to call back or all pre trial charges are going to be filed
This is a scam call, if you answere and some one is on the other end of that call tell them in a loud stern voice that there number is and has been recorded and will be filed with your states AG , FTC , FBI, if they give you their name report that a swell these scamers are using the names of closed out attorney offices no longer in business, they even use fully operating law offices names, I called a law office and informed them that a call from a number was recived and the caller left her name and told me to call back before 4 pm or warents were being issued, I told the real law firm what and who the caller states she was and they called and asked to speak to her, when she got on the phone they told her who they are and why are you using our firms name and state, the real firm called me back and told me that the scamers hung up and disconnected the phone number, also the scamer can munipulate the telco communications system so good that a call from them can look like it's from another part of the US,
