This call came in with the ID showing as AA - I answered, they asked for me by first name only then hung up when I responded. NOTE: In the middle of the night I had 2 large online purchases fraudulently made on a credit card. The cc company called to notify me of this. Coincidence?
The first line of defense is not answering - they can and do use the mere fact you answered as a tool for ID theft, data mining and burglars use it a lot to see if you're home. I've had spoofed call pop up and minutes later someone is trying the doorknob on my apartment. Cops don't care so I bought the first 45 ACP I've ever owned, the only solution, sadly...
This is a mobile phone number. 2nd time they've called but they leave no message. Could be political, of course; with the election coming up, I'm getting lots of robo-calls from candidates.
