Some states allow you to claim for damages under something akin to harrassment. You can sue per violation. I've heard Florida allows $500 per violation ie. Can sue in small claims.
That 10k fine by the FCC is never enforced. The Do Not Call Registry is just a threat. It's rarely enforced. Local judges are more sympathetic (supposedly). Pass it on. Love this site.
Received call this evening at 8:50 p.m. Recorded message referenced a Continuing Legal Education Seminar allegedly authorized by the Florida Bar. Really? A telemarketing call?
I also received a call to my cell phone at 8:50PM showing the call coming from Washington. I did not answer nor did the caller leave a voicemail. Doubt Florida Bar is operating out of Washington at 9:00PM selling CLE courses. Stop these calls.
