I got an unwanted call from them today. CID = "SIGHT CONNECTIO".
CID identified as already blocked so the machine takes over giving them sounds just like a disconnected number then dumps them off the line without even ringing our phone.
Another FUN thing to do is get someone on the line, even if you have to press a key, and say nothing other than "any recording or reproduction of my voice by any and all means is an unauthorized illegal copy". These days every business records ALL calls. If they cannot legally record you then the call will end quickly. In many states there is TWO party consent to record phone calls. Even in states that do not have this requirement and you demand NO RECORDING, the call will still end fast as you explicitly denied permission to record your voice.
I have been able to eliminate most callers using this method. We used to get an average of 6-8 unwanted calls a day. Now many days can go by with no unwanted calls. I know this will work for everyone if you just try it a few times and have positive results you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
Have called three days in a row, and now are blocked. We don't answer calls from unknown numbers, and am tired of the constant phone nuisance. Will NEVER ever ever, give to an organization that solicits for donations via the phone. These folks are actually a real charity (and perhaps a good one)... but most of the "charity" calls that we do get, are NOT actual charities.
