Saying that he was IRS and had a warrant out for tax evasion and wanted me to pay 11,000 dollars. I did not find out where he wanted it sent.
Said he was J. Smith but had a heavy Indian accent
I got a call from the mentioned phone number, saying he was from the Treasury Department and because I always paid my taxes on time I had been awarded a grant for $10,300. First he wanted to confirm that my name was Paula ...., living in ....., with the phone #............ Then he asked for the four last digit of my SSN, which I gave him. Then he wanted to know from the following options which I would choose: bank account, visa or master card since he was going to transfer me to the treasury representative. At this point I asked him for his name Edward Lee he said, then I asked where was he located, Seattle, Washington, then I asked for his employee number. Now he back tracked and said he was going to reconsider my grant and wouldn't be able to transfer me to the treasury representative after all, and he kept asking what was wrong, why was I asking those questions. At my answer of a possible scam he hanged up.
