I also got a call from "officer" Adam Webster of the "IRS," asking that either I or my "retained attorney of record" call him back immediately, about an extremely time-sensitive situation. The first clue that this was a scam was right off the bat, when the greeting was, "This message is for you." He did not identify me by name. You? You who? He went on to say that if neither I nor my attorney returned his call, "All I can say is, good luck, as the situation unfolds on you." I reported the call to the attorney general's office, on the Do Not Call complaint page. It might not do any good, but it can't hurt.
We received this phone call as well, left a message on our machine...terrible, could definitely frighten an elderly person...
What should we do? Report where?
