Message was left that IRS is filing a lawsuit. Clearly fraudulent because you would get a letter, especially if there were any discrepancies, prior to any lawsuit. The bigger question is who is going to go after these people to shut them down? There are people out there that might fall for this and loose a lot of money in the midst of the scam.
206-905-9261 left me a mssg (computer message sounded official) that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I'm thinking scam already. The IRS would not leave that in a message on my answer machine, if at all! I called back and a man who barely spoke english hung up on me 3 sep times as I called back asking diff questions. I asked "where are you calling me from", he said "Washington DC". Then when I questioned his location of DC, he hung up. The IRS is not located in DC, it's offices are in Virginia. I kept calling back after 3 hang ups - all I get now is a busy signal or no answer at all. Its a scam folks!
As the others have already said, it's a bunch of thieves who are trying to fleece you due to money you supposedly "owe" the "IRS" and they are "filing a lawsuit" against you. They're not the real IRS, it's bogus. Just delete the message.
