I got a call three times yesterday, saying that I got a grant of 7000$, and I have to pay 199$ as a transaction fee p, which is refundable. The most amazing thing here is that the person gave all my details perfectly. I m sooooo worried about the ID theft....
I received a call from an unknown number informing me I had won a grant for $7000. All I had to do was give them the grant ID info and a refundable $250. Here was the phone number they told me to call back 1-206-905-9513
just received this same call on my cell as "unknown". same $7000 grant. they had my name & cell number. gave me the 206 number to call with the confirmation number. when I tried to call the 206 number from a different phone it just rang, but when I called from my cell they answered and I hung up. you're right that you should not have to pay to receive a grant but I have gone through other legitimate grant programs and was required to put up some of my own money to receive the grant. still sounds like a scam to me.
5/26/15 18:57 rec'd a phone call from this number. Caller ID showed 1-000-000-0000 and Not Available in place of name.
A man with a strong Indian accent informed me he was from the U S Government Federal Grants Department and my number was randomly selected to receive $9000 tax free that does not require repayment. We were chosen because of a good credit rating, no convictions in the last 6 months, and all taxes are paid up to date.
He was asking to verify my name and zip code and phone number. When I informed him he should have that since he is the one who initiated the call he told me the first name of the person who the phone is registered to and gave the zip code.
He then gave me an approval number to use to claim the money when I called his senior account manager at
206 905 9513. This is as far as I have gotten to calling the number. He also offered numerous forms of pmt except just mailing me a check.
