Sunday afternoon: I've had Amazon Prime for years and they have never called before. Caller ID showed Seattle WA, but the number was only 7 digits. No area code, so my call blocker blocked it. That was half an hour ago. No package on the porch, nor am I expecting one until Wednesday.
Verified Amazon Prime. Thanks to all of these posts, I answered the call! Poor delivery guy needed help finding my building. Got a text two seconds later that my package had been delivered. :)
Except it actually is Amazon. If you're expecting a package to be delivered and don't answer your door or the driver can't get to your door they will call. If you don't answer the calls, you will most likely get a call from an 877 number which is Amazon dispatch. I order a lot from Amazon and get calls a lot from them. A majority of the time they call from a Seattle number, which is where their headquarters are.
Relax. It's just Amazon calling for a delivery. They call when you don't answer your door or can't get to it for some reason. It's not a spoofed number. Amazon uses Seattle numbers.
Phone plan minutes? Really? Anyway, they call because a lot of places don't require the delivery drivers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, AMZL) to get a signature for the delivery. So if you aren't answering your door and the package doesn't require a signature, the driver will call you to see if he/she should leave it, and where he/she should leave it. They also can be told to come back at a later time, leave it with a neighbor, etc. Some people don't like leaving packages outside in plain view where thieves can just grab it and go. Yea, they will leave a tag if it requires a signature and you're not home or you're not answering the phone. Getting a call about a delivery you requested doesn't exactly seem like an inconvenience.
