I almost got scammed by a New Orleans Vacation Rental posting on Craigslist.

CLASSIC LAST MINUTE MARDIS GRAS RENTAL.  I was actually looking for a place for French Qtr Fest in April.

All was fine til they requested a MoneyGram payment.  They wanted half the rental in cash.  There was an "agent" name Dea Lazo in CA who attached her Driver's LIcense photo.  She represented an "owner" Wanda Burts in NY.  

The request was for me to send Wanda Burts cash.  Well anyway,, no go, and I reported all info I have to IC3, Craigslist, etc.

As of today, March 17/10, "Wanda Burts" is still trying to scam the vacation rental on CraigsList. Using the email: [email protected]
Even provided a couple of references, that came through with flying colours...likely the same guy posing as his own references. Whoever this guy is somebody should tear off his nads & shove em down his throat.

I wish I had read your messages March 07 when I sent $1,300 via MoneyGram to WANDA BURTS for an apartment in NY 132W-65th St. ( a storage place of some sort !).

I got couth into the frenzee of a "good deal" and LOST BIG TIME !!!.

I hope my lesson is an WARNING for other honest people !!.
