But you’re right--all of your facts here are correct. We are a publication, we often segment businesses by region for our magazine, our headquarters is in Portland, Maine and we do have another office in DC.
Here’s a little bit about who we are and what we do:
US Builders Review is a trade magazine featuring general contractors, developers and other leaders in the construction industry. We interview top industry executives and business leaders directly and tell their stories from their perspective. By getting the facts straight from the source, we’re able to deliver some of the most detailed insights into industry challenges, successes and market trends.
We publish both print and digital editions, allowing featured businesses to share their articles online and offline. Our goal is to provide our featured businesses with the marketing collateral they need to enhance their reputations and gain new business. Because each business has its own unique needs when it comes to marketing and effectively reaching its target audience, we provide each business with a hard copy of the feature edition, a custom digital brochure and host the article on our website.
A gentleman by the name of Scott Card said he was with US Builders. He had our CEO's name and would only speak to him. He said he was calling to speak to him about a potential state/national project. He was extremely vague and I have become quite the expert on figuring out if it's a scam.
I googled both his number and his company name that he stated while on the phone with him.
The company he told me is a company is in fact a valid company in Houston, but he does not work for them. I called and told them someone called representing their company and asked if Scott Card worked for them. They said no.
The only other US Builders that I could find online is a construction based publication called US Builders Review and one in Allison Park, PA that has been around for a long time. He could work for either of those, but still just sounds SHADY!

We called you because we wanted to learn more about your business and potentially feature your company’s CEO in one of our upcoming editions.
