I rec'd a call from this number on my cell phone yesterday during lunch. Since I didn't recognize it, I let it go to voice mail, but no message was left.
I called from another phone inside our company's pbx system and received a recorded message saying if I wanted to be removed from their call list, press 1. I didn't press any keys and after a few seconds of silence, was disconnected. No mention of what type of business they were, or products they offered. Where did the reference to an alarm company come from?
In some cases, this may be an automated dialing service that is looking for valid phone numbers to sell. If you call back and dial 1, then you might be confirming that your phone number is valid and that a person exists on your end. I am very weary of this type of call. At first I was suspicious of someone fishing for people that "don't have an alarm system" so that they are more vulnerable to robbery/theft. Kind of scary if your phone and address are listed in a phone book somewhere.
