The Idaho State Police does not make calls soliciting donations.
HOWEVER, The Idaho State Police Association, an association whose members are Idaho State Police Troopers and employees, does contract with Civic Development Group (CDG) to make fundraising calls.
You can go to www.ispaonline.org to see the association's official website. If you click on "Fund Raising" on the left menu, it takes you to a page with a sample pledge kit. It also lists a toll free telephone number you can call to verify if the call actually originated from them.
Gentleman called two days in a row. Kept asking for the lady of the house while I was telling him repeatedly we don't accept solicitations. I finally hung up but he was still asking for the lady of the house in a very pushy way. It was very uncomfortable and he was forceful and aggressive.
A guy called, was no gentleman. My husband answered and he asked for me by my first name. My husband of 33 years asked who it was, he snickered and hung up. I did a search on google to find this location. I also found a second place. I did a report on the other site too. I also did a search to find out where the prefix 286 is located in Idaho. It's in Star Idaho, just west of Boise. I wrote an email to the Star City Hall and let them know that someone is calling people and making them uncomfortable. I haven't spoken to this individual, but if he calls again, I have a very loud horn. I will attempt to blow out his eardrums! hehehe Luckily, he can't get to us. But, what if he did a search of our phone number? What would he find? This is too scarey. I am frightening myself. Oh wait! That's right, my husband and I both own 367 revolvers and we have two dogs that will alert us should someone come around our house. :) We need to be ready to protect ourselves. calling 911 sometimes takes too long.
This was a call received by my adult daughter in Idaho. After a line of meaningless chatter, the caller said he was calling "on behalf of the Idaho State Troopers", upon which my daughter said she didn't participate in phone solicitations and ended the call. We are thinking that was not a call authorized by the Idaho State Police. Does anyone know anything more about calls from this number?
