Received a call from this number today. Said they were from Verizon, my cable provider, and were offering me 24 months of free HBO. When asked if this offer was anywhere online, they said no. I politely declined and hung up. They called back saying something unintelligible and then hung up. I hope they weren't the real Verizon; I don't care to switch now.
when i called back to complain, the machine claimed this was verizon sales. problem is, im already a verizon customer- something im sure verizon would know. ive received several calls this week, almost every day. almost all are 208 numbers. anyways, the system left me on hold for around 20 minutes before i gave up. i have previously answered one of their calls, and it was someone sounding to be in india. you could hear people laughing in the background. every once in a while he himself would laugh at something his colleagues were doing. i informed him that i was already a verizon customer, and i was on the national do not call registry. he LAUGHED at that. and still continued trying to "inform me of their promotions." SCAM.
