Received a call from this number today. Said they were from Verizon, my cable provider, and were offering me 24 months of free HBO. When asked if this offer was anywhere online, they said no. I politely declined and hung up. They called back saying something unintelligible and then hung up. I hope they weren't the real Verizon; I don't care to switch now.
I have been getting these scam calls from a Verizon phone bank with what appears to be a spoofed number in Idaho 208-318-5099. Since the 4 or 5 people I questioned just barely spoke English, I am assuming the calls are coming from Mexico.
I called Verizon and they would not discuss the daily calls other than to say it sounds like Verizon marketing calls, and "claim" they would put me on a do not call list.
